Dragonfest was started in 2016 to raise funds for tuition assistance programs at Infinity Academy, a school for kids with developmental learning disabilities like autism. Over 60% of the schools population rely on tuition assistance to attend the school.
Dragonfest was started as an opportunity to engage the community in the spirit of the small but mighty school, Infinity Academy. At Infinity, they honor and celebrate the unique contributions of their students to our global culture. Their mission is to serve the educational needs of middle and high school-aged students who need an alternative to traditional schooling such as those with disabilities and autism. Most importantly, they provide a learning environment suitable for students with alternative learning needs. They prepare students for independent living, the workplace and college by providing the academic, social and professional skills they need to be successful.
So, Every dollar you spend as a sponsor, vendor, performer or guest of the kingdom goes directly to meeting the needs of these students. They have a top-notch staff; a warm and supportive learning environment; a rigorous, self-paced curriculum; and a student body ready to embrace the infinite possibilities that await them.
Dragonfest is currently held at the Springfield Riding Club facility off of Hwy NN just East of Highland Springs. This facility is great for our growing event but sense we don't own the land we can't build any of the permanent structures we would like to build. As we do not have our own land, we have set up a fund to save toward the purchase of property. With our 501(c)(3) tax exempt status, we are actively searching for land that we can call our own. We would love to find a land owner who would be willing to donate the land. For more information about our ideal property location click HERE.
